WHO WE ARE
Project ICEWATER is a team of interdisciplinary researchers from the University of Alberta tasked with understanding how glacier loss impacts downstream chemical, physical, biological systems in the Bow, North Saskatchewan and Athabasca watersheds. Our integrative approach is designed to capture multiple impact scales, from the elemental to landscape level to inform holistic water-use and biodiversity conservation policies for Albertan’s for years to come.
We respectfully acknowledge that we conduct research on Treaty 7 & 8 territories, and that our home institution, The University of Alberta, is situated on Treaty 6 territory, and that these are the traditional lands of First Nations and Métis people.
